What is gaper day?

Gaper Day is an annual tradition in ski resorts where participants dress up in silly, retro or outdated ski gear and hit the slopes for a day of fun and festivities. The event typically takes place towards the end of the ski season and is a way for skiers and snowboarders to let loose and celebrate the end of the season.

Participants often wear bright, mismatched outfits, oversized goggles, onesies, and other quirky accessories to embrace the gaper aesthetic. Some may even bring along old, outdated equipment like straight skis or rear-entry boots to complete the look.

Gaper Day is not a serious event and is all about having a good time with friends on the mountain. There may be silly races, costume contests, and other activities organized by the resort to add to the festive atmosphere. It's a great way to celebrate the end of the ski season and enjoy one last day on the slopes before the snow melts away.
